one of the reasons my blog has been feeling “not-mine” lately is because i’ve been getting so much comment spam. over the weekend, i found a spiffy movable type plugin called SpamLookup that’s been doing a marvelous job filtering out the crap so far.
I plug because I love.
i’ve had spamlookup installed for a couple months now and i’m still not sure how much its blocking. i just checked my blog and had over 100 new pieces of spam. all but a couple were moderated, but i still had to de-spam with mt-blacklist to get rid of them. i dunno, i think i need to disable blacklist and see how spamlookup doe son its own. i also need to upgrade to MT 3.2 b/c spamlookup comes bundled with it now.
I’m still running MT-Blacklist. I think in MT 3.20, Spamlookup is included instead of MT-Blacklist.
Still, MT-Blacklist with regular updates and adding of new strings on my part catches all but 5~10 a week. I need to get my DSL back so I can start upgrading…
