i’ve tired myself out talking about the war and about president bush. all i want is for the war to be over soon, with as few lost lives as possible. i am so angry at the bush administration’s handling of ALL of this (and there’s a lot… i haven’t the energy to detail all the shadiness and lying this administration has consistently been doing for the past 3 years bush has been in office, but believe me, there is PLENTY) that i want to hear nothing about the war, nothing about progress or setbacks, nothing. it upsets me so that even this administration does not seem to understand or care what it has gotten into, refuses to acknowledge the perils or consequences of its actions, and is willing to let the burden fall instead to the average Joe, to his kids, and to their kids.
I weep for the fact that this nation is now led by fear and paranoia, instead of good sense and understanding. My heart aches with the realization that America, instead of being the world’s leading peacekeeper, is now the world’s leading hate-mongerer. We have taken tribalism and isolationism to frightening degrees in a world that grows ever smaller daily with the increasing interaction between businesses and countries around the globe.
Mr. Bush, who do you think you are? You are supposed to be our president, you work for the people. Why do you ignore us and treat us like pawns in your game of corporate greed?
This is not one of your failed ventures as CEO, Mr. President. This is America, and you are threatening to run the most powerful country in the world, as well as its very delicate web of international goodwill, into the ground, just like your other companies. Are you really too stupid to understand even that?
So no more talk of the war. It very honestly hurts my heart to feel as if everything our country stands for (freedom, tolerance, liberty) and appreciates (including the French, who, if people remember, actually built our Statue of Liberty… and helped instill us with the ideals of liberty…) is in the process of being completely and utterly squandered in the process of going to war with Iraq. and furthermore, Republicans, you may not have liked Clinton’s blow job, but was your personal safety ever threatened by his actions? the personal safety of each American is now threatened as American becomes Global Bully #1…
i need to stop here. this truly makes me sad and angry, and i cannot deal with this anymore.
To the troops in Iraq, I salute your bravery and your willingness to sacrifice for our freedom, and for the freedom of the Iraqi people. May you all return home safely and quickly. Godspeed.
How can one use the phrase “Clinton’s blow job” and “Godspeed” in the same article. This fact conbined with many others proves the uselessness of this article and the person writing it.
